20 Beautiful Childeren

IN HONOR and MEMORY OF THE CHILDREN AND TEACHERS FROM SANDY HOOK

TWAS 11 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS AROUND 9:38

WHEN 20 BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN STORMED THRU HEAVENS GATE

THEIR SMILES WERE CONTAGIOUS THEIR LAUGHTER FILLED THE AIR

THEY COULD HARDLY BELIEVE ALL THE BEAUTY THEY SAW THERE

THEY WERE FILLED WITH SUCH JOY THEY DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO SAY

THEY REMEMBERED NOTHING OF EHAT HAPPENED EARLIER THAT DAY

WHERE ARE WE? ASKED A LITTLE GIRL AS QUIET AS A MOUSE

THIS IS HEAVEN DECLARED A SMALL BOY WE ARE SPENDING CHRISTMAS AT GODS HOUSE

WHEN WHAT TO THEIR WONDERING EYES SHOULD APPEAR

BUT JESUS THEIR SAVIOR THE CHILDREN GATHERED NEAR

HE LOOKED AT THEM AND SMILED AND THEY SMILED JUST THE SAME

THEN HE OPENED HIS ARMS AND HE CALLED THEM BY NAME

AND IN THAT MOMENT WAS JOY THAT ONLY HEAVEN CAN BRING

THOSE CHILDREN ALL FLEW TO THE ARMS OF THEIR KING

AND AS THEY LINGERED IN THE WARMTH OF HIS EMBRACE

ONE SMALL GIRL TURNED AND LOOKED AT JESUS FACE

AND AS IF HE COULD READ ALL THE QUESTIONS SHE HAD

HE GENTLY WHISPERED TO HER I WILL TAKE CARE OF YOUR MOM AND DAD

THEN HE LOOKED DOWN ON EARTH THE WORLD FAR BELOW

HE SAW ALL OF THE HURT THE SORROW THE WOE

THEN HE CLOSED HIS EYES AND OUTSTRETCHED HIS HAND

LET MY POWER AND PRESENCE RE ENTER THIS LAND

MAY THIS COUNTRY BE DELIEVERD FROM THE HANDS OF FOOLS

IAM TAKING BACK MY NATION I AM TAKING BACK MY SCHOOLS

THEN HE AND THE CHILDREN STOOD UP WITH A SOUND

COME NOW MY CHILDREN LET ME SHOW YOU AROUND

EXCITEMENT FILLS THE SPACE SOME SKIPPED AND SOME RAN

ALL DISPLAYING ENTHUSIASM THAT ONLY A SMALL CHILD CAN

AND I HEARD HIM PROCLAIM AS HE WALKED OUT OF SIGHT

IN THE MIDST OF THE DARKENESS

I AM STILL THE LIGHT!

Let Him In-The Inn Keeper

"He then carefully lifted from the case something that resembled an arched entrance or passageway made of stone. John placed it in the nurse's hands do she could examine it more closely.

It was fascinating. It made her think of the kind of doorways people must have entered thousands of years ago. Small as it was, it had been crafted with great attention to detail. It seemed made of real stones and mortar. Thick piece of cloth hung where Constance expected to see a door.

Then Constance's eyes focused on something that had been painted on the stones above the entrance. It looked as though it had been written long ago in a language she could not understand.

"I made this myself," John said proudly. "It's the entrance to the inn where there was no room for Joseph and Mary"

"There was a man who turned away Joseph and Mary- not because he was mean or thoughtless. He was just taking care of business. What haunted him, though, was the feeling that he didn't really do all he could have done for the pregnant woman and her husband."

'I am a man forgotten; no one recalls my name.
And thousands of years will fail to fully erase the shame.
But I turned a profit nicely that day
That I turned the couple away... I turned them away.

I didn't sleep that evening, though I'd sold out my place.
Somehow I felt uneasy... Something about her face.
Why did I wish that of let the stay?
I don't think they could have paid... Or could they have paid?

Restless I left my bedroom.
I walked the streets all night,
Lost in the world I lived in.
Then found by a heavenly light!
Staring at one bright star in the sky,
I head a baby cry.

I knew where the cry had come from
'Cause if told them where to go,
But I didn't think I could face them,
So sadly I slowly walked home,
Missing my chance to share in the joy.
I never saw her boy.

He never would condemn me.
I did that all on my own.
He offered His forgiveness,
And ever since then I've known
He lets us choose each hour of each day,
If we'll let Him in to stay.

Whether it be in your world today
Or a crowded Bethlehem inn,
Find a way... make Him room... let Him in.'

Constance hung the ornament far enough on the evergreen branch that there was no danger of it accidentally falling off. And as she did, she noticed again the strange writing across the top of the ornament. John read her thoughts and answered,

"That was the inscription written by the Innkeeper over the entrance to his inn shortly before he died. I wanted to preserve it on the ornament just the way my friend had written it. It says 'Let Him In.'"
- A Man Forgotten, The Forgotten Carols by Michael McLean

This time of year is when we celebrate the birth of our Christ and Savior Jesus Christ, and sometimes we need to stop what we are doing and just think about the beauty of what this holiday season is really about.

There were so many important people who were in the background of his birth that have been forgotten and misunderstood. This story really helps to recognize those forgotten people and to see how important they really were.

I love this Christmas story so much. As a Christmas tradition my family and I read this book every year in December, and I treasure it so much. This is a tradition I want to pass on to my future home and family because it is so precious to me.

This Christmas story tells of the birth of our Savior from a different view than we are used too. It gives Christmas so much more meaning, and helps me and my family to have a Christ centered Christmas.

A Letter From My Headmaster

This is one of the greatest men I know. He is such an inspiration in my life. He always knows what to say when I am feeling down, and even if he doesn't know it, he has made a huge impact in my life. I could not imagine a better headmaster.

Dear Students,

You are at the end of a very meaningful and intense semester. You have worked hard, and have a few more days of hard work in front of you. I have been thinking about you this morning. I know many of you are doing more work and harder work than you've ever done before.
As I was thinking about you, I began thinking about a few things I have learned in my own academic pursuits. I decided, heck, why not share a few with you?
So, here are a few things I believe. Maybe they're relevant during the last couple of days of your semester.
• I believe we are all connected. I think when you conquer academic challenges on your own, in your own home, wherever it may be; it somehow makes us all a little better. I can't explain it, but I believe it.
• I believe we all have a voice of character and integrity within us - we usually don't need someone else to tell us when we're cutting corners or taking the easy way out. We can sense it ourselves.
• I believe that hard work and academic discipline always pay off. Sometimes the payoff won't come until some point later in life, but they always pay off. ALWAYS! Your hard work, regardless of grades or goals or glory, will always pay off at some point in your life. Trust me on this.
• I believe every one of you is a genius in some way.
• I believe genius doesn't just manifest itself; it only rises to the surface when it's called upon. What conditions wake up our genius? Challenges. Big challenges. When you are challenged the most, your genius is most likely to rise to the surface. When you're in your comfort zone, your genius has the luxury of being lazy. This is hard to see when you're in the challenge itself, but this becomes clear in retrospect, after you've conquered it or even been beaten.
• Positive thoughts are the key to success. Every time you face a negative thought, just look it in the eyes, and then bid it farewell. Stay positive. No matter what the situation is, you can always smile and enjoy working hard.

I love you guys. You're all gifted, incredible, talented geniuses. You got this. End Fall Semester knowing you gave all you had.

Sincerely,
Mr. Ure

F.E.A.R.

This is very true, the choice is ours; and today I am making the choice to face everything and rise. I am not going to be afraid of the could be's and the what if's. Today I am making the choice the rise above everything. Today I'm not going to let anything get in my way or push me down. This is my life, and nobody can tell me how to live it.

The way people grow is by being their own person and not giving into peer-pressure. The greatest peoople in the world didn't just go with the crowd they did what they wanted and wouldn't stop till they got what they wanted, and THOSE people, they are the kind of people who chabge things. People might ask them "Why?" and they say "Why not?"

Who Will Win This Great Fight

Men are all around,
The sound of gun fire is in the air,
Men are falling down.

The tragic sounds of war,
The sounds are all around.
Men are fighting,
Men are dying.

Brother against brother,
Friend against friend,
This is the story,
The story of war.

Everyone is fighting,
Fighting for what they know to be right.
They fight for their country,
They fight for their rights.
They fight for their dear friend,
Who was lost in the fight.

Men of young and men of old,
Fight to the death,
To try to win this great fight.

Christ is the Key

A father wanted to read a magazine but was being bothered by his little girl. She wanted to know what the United States looked like.

Finally, he tore a sheet out of his new magazine on which was printed the map of the country. Tearing it into small pieces, he gave it to her and said,

'Go into the other room and see if you can put this back together.' After a few minutes, she returned and handed him the map, correctly fitted and taped together. The father was surprised and asked how she had finished so quickly.

'Oh,' she said, 'on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus. When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, Then our country just came together.'

Christ is the answer to ALL our questions. I find it so reasurring, everytime I read this, that even little childeren know that. Christ will solve any puzzle or problem you might have, I guarantee it. Christ is the one true light, and with out him we would be nothing. Our country would be nothing. Our whole reason for living, would be nothing.

Follow Christ, let him be your light. He will help bring our country together if we let him and bring him into our lives. He wants to help, but can't unless we ask for his help. Pray for our country, pray for our lives. Let Christ know, we neeed his help.

This is Life, Beautifully Stated

I am posting this because I've been through a lot of these things, I've had a bad day, sometimes things just don't go right. But you know what, that's life. You just have to pick yourself up and keep moving on. I love you all, I hope you know that no matter what happens in our lives.

Beautifully stated....

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person
that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.
You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll fight with your best friend.
You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.

You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

Live for the now because everything else is unknown.

Life is Well... Beautiful

Life sucks. People die. People cry. Life just isn't fair. People are selfish. People get hurt. People just really don't care.

That's what life seems like a lot. Or at least that's how mine seems to be. But I know that's not how life really is. Suuure life sometimes knocks you down, but you wanna know what I've learned? You just have to get right back up, dust yourself off, look life in the eyes and tell it "you hit like a whimp." (<--- life quote there) That's what you have to do. You can't give up no matter how much you might want to.

A couple weekends ago I broke my collarbone, and I have been slightly depressed because I can't do anything other than sit here in my nice big chair. It seriously sucks. But, I keep reminding myself that it's not the end of the world.

One of my favorite poets is Robert Frost, and he once said "If there is one thing I have learned about if is that 'it goes on.'

Sure and broken collarbone, or let's say, (for all intents and purposes) and broken heart, may seem like the end of the world at the time, but guess what, it's not. You have a whole life ahead of you too live and enjoy. So pick your self up off the ground and let your light shine bright. Show the worls that you can't be pushed around and that you are the ruler of your own life. You get to control what you do and what happens.

No matter how hard life gets just remember that it is your life and you have the power to control it. Make the most out of your life. Make your life and this world, beautiful.

Moments

“Life is not breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.” ~ George Strait

We need to make life worth making. Life can be very boring if we don’t try to do anything to make it exciting. I like to once in a while do something random and spontaneous just to make my life interesting and full of surprises. You can’t always predict what your life is going to turn out to be, so make it worthwhile and love unconditionally, always forgive but never forgot, and make your life the way you want it to be.

Yes You Can!

“I know God won't give me anything I can't handle.” ~ Mother Teresa

This quote is so true. In the bible God said that he would never give us any trails that we can’t handle. It’s our choice though whether we get through them or not. There are only two things that can happen when you are having a trial in your life, you grow, learn and get stronger from it, or you let it take over your life and ruin. Personally I like the first choice better. Don’t ever give up when life gets tough and it seems like nothing will ever be right. I promise that if you stay strong and never give up it will always be worth it in the end. You have to have the desire to keeping going otherwise you won’t keep going and you won’t get stronger. I honestly like trials, at the time I don’t but when I look back at one of my trials I think “Wow that really did change me and make me stronger.” It helps me be more grateful for the things I have and my wonderful life, and my trials help bring me closer to God.

Change

“If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain.” ― Maya Angelou

This is very important. People always blame other people when they aren’t happy, when really they have the power to change and be happy. You just have to find out how to change it, and if you can’t change the problem, then change the way you see it, and don’t let it control how you feel. I have to do that a lot when I get mad and frustrated, or sad and depressed. I try to figure out what is causing my sadness and try to change it. If that doesn’t work then I say to myself “I need to change the way I am looking at this situation and change my attitude.” It’s no good to go through life hating everything around you because of a situation that you can change, it’s not fair to everyone else, and it is a waste of your time. There was a time where I was sad and depressed all the time, and it really worried my friends, and they would always ask me if I was okay. All I did was shut them out. I was mad at everyone and everything around me. I didn’t want to have anything to do with the people around me. It was terrible. One day one of my friends came up to me and instead of asking if I was okay he said “I know you’re not okay, and I know you don’t care what I have to say, but I want you to be happy, it worries me seeing you like this. Be Happy! Smile!” Then he gave me a hug and told me that he was going to give me a letter every day until I was happy again. And after about a week of him giving me letters telling me to be happy and that everything will be okay, I finally started to be happy again. All it took was one friend to tell me that he was worried about me and wants me to be happy. Now whenever one of my friends is feeling down, I do the same. Don’t tell someone that you know what they are going through because the chances are, you don’t. Just let them know you are there for them, and try to help them see the way they are looking at something. Help them think positive!

Light

“Happiness can be found in even the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light.”  -Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban)

J.K. Rolling is a very good writer. She inspires me to become a better writer. She comes up with amazing quotes like this one that give you inspiration. This kind of reminds me of our economy right now. It’s like we are in the dark right now, then one day someone will come along and flip the switch back on and we won’t be in there any longer. This is the time when people need to learn to put their electronics down and use their imagination. Children very rarely use their imaginations anymore. My cousin lived in Colorado for about a year and she told me that there was this little kindergartener that had an iPhone. How freaking crazy is that! It’s so sad to see what parents do to keep their kids occupied. Oh the days when families would spend time together instead of being “Plugged in”. It’s just sad. It’s no wonder our country is the way it is people don’t communicate like they used to.

Be a Dreamer

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” ― Harriet Tubman

I love inspirational quotes like this. Whenever I am feeling like I can’t get anything done and like there is no point in trying I always look up quotes like this one and they help me get out of my depression or whatever it is and I keep pushing forward. Harriet Tubman was a wonderful courageous leader that stood up for what she believed in. She hated being treated like an animal and she hated seeing her family and friends die from being beaten to death. She raised her voice and took a stand. Sure she knew know what the consciences would be if she was caught but she was willing to risk her life to set her family and friends free. She is a wonderful person to look up to, and is most defiantly one of my heroes. I want to one day be able to be as brave as Miss Tubman and make a difference in other people’s lives. I want to help others. I don’t care about fame like others might, fame doesn’t always help others. There are so many other ways to help people without being famous. Just simple small things like raising money to help the homeless can help and they are grateful for it. I might be just one person, but I have friends and my friends have friends and if we all help each other we can all make a difference together.

Memories

I open the door to that old dance room. The purple walls, the wood floor, the mirror and the bars. They are all so familiar from years before. I step into the room as music starts in my head; my body suddenly remembers the dance from years ago when I was ten. I dance around the room without a care in the world, dancing with emotions that I never knew I had. I dance with all my heart until the music stops, then I take one more sad glance at the room I never forgot. As I step out of that room I know there will come a day, when I will step in that room and feel the same way again.

Eagles in Flight

Have you ever taken the time to watch an eagle fly? If not the next time you see an eagle just stop whatever it is that you are doing and watch it, just watch what it does, and how it flies. I sometimes wish I could be an eagle. Eagles are so free and they can go where ever they would like. They are strong leaders. Eagle is the symbol of our nation. We are supposed to be a strong united nation, like our symbol, the eagle.

Not Just Fairy Tales

“Fairy tales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.” ~ G.K. Chesterton

I believe that the dragons are really bullies, struggles in our lives; it can even be the world itself. They are both very existent, and they can be defeated, we just need courage and strength to do so. It only takes those two things to be able to defeat your greatest challenges, or at least for me that’s all I need. Another useful thing for me when I am going through a hard time and feel like I am all alone, I pray to my father in heaven. God can be your best friend if only you will let him be. For me, I know I can tell God anything and he will understand and he will comfort me. I am very grateful for the knowledge of my Father in Heaven. He is the best listener, and comforter I can think of, and he gives me strength to push forward and keep strong.

Youer Than You!

I love this quote by Dr. Seuss. It’s very inspirational and reminds me that I am me and there is no one else like me. It reminds me to love who I am and not change to be like other people. I don’t need to follow the recent trends to fit in. Fitting in shouldn’t matter. I just need to be me and let my light shine! I am me and no one else can change that. No one else on this earth looks exactly like me, or thinks exactly like me. I’m me, and I am unique. I won’t let anyone change who I am, because like Taylor Swift said “If you’re lucky enough to be different, don’t you ever change.”

Should the Pledge of Allegiance Be Recited in Schools?

Yes, the pledge of allegiance most definitely should be recited in schools. The pledge of allegiance is part of our country’s history and it is respectful to our country and the people that formed it. The pledge of allegiance shows that we are grateful for our country and our freedom, so reciting it in school is the least we can do. Kids like me need to learn things like the pledge of allegiance because we are the next generation to rule the country, but we can’t do that if we don’t know anything about it, and if we don’t know how to show respect.

Do you know how sad it is when you are at a basketball or football game or something and there are teens that don’t know the pledge of allegiance? It’s terrible; we need to know these things. I know some kids that aren’t grateful for our country because they don’t realize what people suffered to help us get where we are now. Do you really want people that don’t know about our country’s history ruling our country some day? Words of the pledge of allegiance remind us of history so that we can remember things from the past. If we don’t recite the pledge of allegiance we won’t be reminded, and if we aren’t reminded then we will repeat history. We don’t want to repeat the mistakes from history.

The pledge of allegiance may have “under God” in it and it is there for a reason. You don’t need to change things just because someone isn’t happy, you can’t make everyone in the world happy, it doesn’t work that way. Having “Under God” in the pledge of allegiance does not make it a “religious exercise”. People use the name “God” ALL the time, but they use it disrespectfully. If you use it disrespectfully then you should have NO problem using it respectfully in the pledge of allegiance. Even if you don’t believe in God you can still say it, the pledge of allegiance isn’t trying to convert anyone over to God.

I can understand why people don’t want teachers teaching about God at school because everyone has different views on God. Not saying the pledge of allegiance though JUST because it has the name “God” in it? That’s not right. People make such a big deal over little things like this and it’s stupid. If you don’t want to show respect to our country that, yes, God helped us get, then maybe you shouldn’t be in the United States of America. America is a free country, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t show respect. All too often we take things like our freedom for granted then we don’t feel like we owe anything to our country or the wonderful leaders that created it by winning our freedom.

Think about it; is not saying the pledge of allegiance worth it? Is it worth having bad leaders in the future that don’t know the meaning of freedom, and that don’t show respect to our country? Is it really truly worth it? Honestly, I really don’t think it is. I don’t want to have a future where people lose sight of why we have freedom, and how it came to be. I don’t know about you, but I love my freedom, and I love my country. I will show respect and I feel it is every citizen’s job to do the same.

Annabel Lee

Annabel Lee

Edgar Allan Poe

1.      Annabel Lee kind of reminds me of a tragic princess story. It’s really sweet at first then Annabel Lee dies and the poor man goes crazy. It makes me feel very sorry for the man and is terrible loss.

2.      When the man goes crazy he starts to blame the angels in heaven for taking his beautiful Annabel Lee. It’s a really sad poem, but it is very well written.

3.      This is a very beautifully written poem that makes me want to be better at writing so I can write as wonderful as this.

The Tell-Tale Heart

The Tell-Tale Heart

Edgar Allan Poe

1.    The Tell-Tale Heart really captures me with the bone chilling story that is being told.

2.    This poem almost makes me feel like I am the insane murderer creeping up on the sleeping man because it is so well written.

3.    I love how smoothly the words flow with each other and the story.

The Hulk

Bruce Banner is a top scientist that invents gamma bombs. One day while testing the bomb a stupid teenager named Rick Jones got in the way and Banner saved him. Since he was exposed to the radiation, whenever he gets angry he transforms into a strong green monster called the Hulk.

Is Williamsburg Academy The Place For You?

Williamsburg Academy is a wonderful school that has amazing helpful leaders that are here to help you. They want you to succeed! They do all they can to help you find out “WHO YOU ARE” and help shape you to be an outstanding leader! Williamsburg gives you a challenge, helps you to set goals and keep them, but most of all it helps you find your journey in life. If you are looking to become a great leader and find yourself, Williamsburg Academy is the place for you.

The Story of a Hero

“Grandma, who are these people in the picture?” Jacob asked, holding the picture with care. His grandma looked at the picture with a sad smile as memories came flooding back to her.

“Come here Jacob; let me tell you a story.” Jacob got up and settled on the couch by his grandmother, eager to listen. “It all started when I turned 18 in the year 1939 in England...” Jacobs’s imagination took over and he was transported back through time.

The walls of the ice cream parlor shook terribly and the whole building trembled. Everyone rushed out of the shop going for cover as the ground shook more. The streets were in chaos as Mary and her husband William hurried for the air raid shelters across the road. They quickly made it inside where the rest of Mary’s family was. The younger children were all in tears, so Mary and her mother tried to calm them down while Mary’s father helped neighbors into the underground cellar. Their worst fears had taken effect; World War II had begun.

“Do you really have to go?” Mary asked with tearful eyes.

“I’m sorry Mary, but I have a duty to our country. I’ll come back, I promise. In the meantime take care of yourself and our baby, okay?” he said kissing her head.

“Okay,” she said in tears. They exchanged one last kiss. Before he left, Mary’s mother snapped a picture of the couple. William got on the plane waving goodbye to his beautiful wife.

“But grandma, what happened to William?” Jacob asked, breaking her from her trance.

His grandma looked at him sadly, “Unfortunately Jacob, William never made it back home to his wife and beautiful daughter. Although he was gone, Mary always knew that he was forever looking down at his beautiful wife and daughter, and still is to this day. Now he has wonderful grandchildren to watch over also.”

Jacob looked at the picture again “Was he a hero?” he asked curiously.

“He most defiantly was,” she answered proudly.

The plan

I flip through the pages of the New York Times as a man sits down across from me. “You’re late. Oh well. Did you do as I asked?” I say in a whisper “Yes, the bombs are taken care of.” A smile creeps upon my face “Perfect.”

Having A Rough Time

Toilet paper was her enemy.

Every time she was forced to perform her bodily duties, she sat and stared at the sinister roll, its deceptive whiteness concealing its teeth. She tried to tell her mother that she heard it snarling every time, but her mother dismissed her with, “Oh, don’t be ridiculous.”

When her first record spiked on the charts, the first thing she bought was a closet full of two-ply, quilted Charmin.

I thought this was super cute/funny! Hope you think so too! Smile
